This year we have, once again, decided to run this event over two days on Saturday/Sunday 16th/17th March.

Each day will have a different theme, but there is something here for everyone. It will be a great opportunity to tap into the knowledge and experience of Med members .....  and to make new friends and meet people who have similar sailing plans.

You are most welcome to attend either or both days.

 

The focus on the first day (Saturday 16th) will be mainly for those thinking of going to the Med, or those that have been there for a few years:-

1015 - 1045       Coffee and Registration

1045 - 1100       Introductions and Housekeeping Announcements 

1100 - 1145        "An Atlantic crossing route from Plymouth to the Med" - Henry Buchanan, CA Member

1145 - 1230       "Crossed anchors - How to avoid .......and how to escape!" - Vyv Cox, Engineer, Author and CA Member

1230 - 1300       "How I got here, and visiting Venice by boat" - Claude Dischly, HLR Venice

1300 - 1400        Lunch

1400 - 1445        "Weather in the Mediterranean" - Jim Bacon, ex BBC Weatherman, now runs Weatherquest

1445 - 1530         "What insurance is all about and what, and what cover do you need" - Laura Clothier, Topsail Insurance

1530 - 1600         "Greek bureaucracy and Brexit update (as appropriate)" - Chris Robb, CA Member

1600                     Q&A - Panel of speakers

The second day (Sunday 17th) will focus more on specific Mediterranean areas:- 

1030 -1100          Coffee and Registration

1100 -1115           Introductions and Housekeeping Announcements 

1115 -1145           "Boating in the Northern Adriatic" - Claude Dischly, HLR Venice

1145 -1230           "Sailing in the Northern Aegean" - Vyv Cox, Engineer, Author and CA Member

1230 -1300           "More about Greek bureaucracy and Brexit (as appropriate)" - Chris Robb, CA Member

1300 - 1400          Lunch

1400 - 1445         "Sailing in the Eastern Med and Israel, in particular" - Frank & Carole Yantin, CA Members

1445 - 1515         "Sailing as a couple" - Andrew and Kate Osmond, CA Members 

1515 - 1545         "World Heritage sites of Greece and Turkey by boat" - Keith Pettican, CA Member

1545 - 1600          Q & A, Panel of Speakers

1600                      Close and Tea

 

The cost of this event will be £22.50 per member per day.  For those members attending both days the cost will be £40 .  Non-members £45 per person per day.

A sandwich lunch, tea and coffee included.

NB: Although not anticipated, minor changes to the programme cannot be ruled out at this stage
