Guide to the Canal du Rhône au Rhin (Nord) and Canal de Colmar

This guide covers the navigable Canal du Rhône au Rhin (Nord), which runs for around 35 kilometers from the lock of Écluse du Rhin, where it joins the Grand Canal d’Alsace just downstream of the large Rhine lock of Rhinau, to the major city of Strasbourg, where it joins the Canal de la Marne au Rhin. It also covers the Canal de Colmar runs for 23 kilometres from its junction with the Grand Canal d’Alsace at PK 226.2 to the beautiful city of Colmar.

Details are provided on all the marinas, haltes and other mooring points (even picnic stops) along the waterway, together with information on facilities, shopping and nearby attractions. Each mooring point is illustrated by a colour photo, meaning that the guide is the only detailed pictorial reference available for cruising on this waterway.

Members can download the Guide free. The downloadable guide includes links to all the moorings for which there are Cruising Reports currently available. Members viewing the Guide on their laptops, tablets or mobile phones are thus able to click directly through to individual Cruising Reports on the CA website – in addition, of course, to accessing them via the CAptain's Mate app.
