Cruising Association recognises member contributions with Polaris Award

Sharing cruising expertise has been at the heart of the Cruising Association since 1908, and to recognise members’ location information contributions the Polaris Award was launched in 2022.

The Polaris Award is presented in appreciation of exceptional contributions by members to the CA’s Cruising Almanac, CAptain’s Mate and Cruising Guide resources.

Several recipients are honoured each year and presented with a Polaris flag, whilst CAptain’s Mate recipients also have their reports identified by a Polaris Award blue star.

In recognition of contributions in 2023, the Polaris Award was presented to:

  • Kate Walker, Peter Bishton – for their input to CAptain’s Mate, and
  • Christine and Martin Lunt – for their work as joint Cruising Almanac editors for Denmark and Germany.
