Round Britain for the Old Gaffers’ 50th anniversary, by Sue Lewis
This last summer, Sue Lewis sailed the Round-Britain Challenge for the Old Gaffers Association’s 50th anniversary. With husband, Howard, she set off from Heybridge Basin in their 37ft gaff cutter Bonify on 21 April, after a send off dinner at Maldon where the OGA was founded half a century ago. A changing crew of family and friends joined the trip, which took in detours to Northern France and Ireland. Sue kept a blog of her trip for Classic Boat magazine and recorded its ups and downs with some beautiful pictures.
