Round Britain and beyond: a doggy tale

Round Britain and beyond: a doggy tale, by Derek Lumb

Judging by the pictures people put on their MyCA profiles, we are a pet-loving Association. While it is possible to find temporary minders for a short weekend away, longer cruising can often mean taking pets with us, with all the adjustments that requires. So it was for Jean and Derek Lumb and their border collies: Meg, introduced to the boat at the age of eight; and Tess who sailed with them from about seven months old. The talk will cover their experience of getting a dog used to the boat, toilet issues, impact on passage planning, logistics, going abroad, and the problems and some solutions they’ve found, against the background of three trips around Britain and seasons in the Baltic and Brittany.

Date: Wednesday 15th of March. Lectures and talks start promptly at 19:00 hrs

Place: CA House

Booking: Book here, Tickets are: £4 for members and £7 for non-members. Season tickets are available at £16 for the eight lectures from 1st of February to 22nd of March.
