This month we head to Porto Montenegro, a popular and well-known location in Tivat, Montenegro.
Providing excellent shelter, Porto Montenegro is a large marina located on the stunning Gulf of Kotor, which is close to Tivat airport and offers a year-round port of entry/exit.
On arrival, call the marina and you will be met at your berth to help with lines. The marina offers plenty of facilities – water, shore power, Wi-Fi, security, fuel, showers, chandlery and more - as well as the onsite Porto Montenegro Yacht Club and golf buggies to get around the site.
It is described by CA member Jan Bentsen, who has been visiting since 2016, as "the best marina we have visited in the Med."
Jan’s CAptain’s Mate location report goes on to say it is, "Very well maintained, clean all over, no waste laying around. The staff are highly trained and top service minded.
"We made a reservation beforehand on +382 32 661 061 and called the marina upon arrival on VHF 71.
"The service building is close by, with great showers and washing machine/dryer (€5 - each load).
"Technical assistance has to be ordered through their concierge service by mail: concierge@portomontenegro.com.
"The supermarket VOLI in marina area is very expensive. Look for another in the city. Exchange of gas. 3-4 km down the road at gas station called INA."
