CA joins the fight against Paralympic Games decision

Following news that sailing has been dropped from the 2020 Paralympic Games Programme, The Cruising Association is joining the campaign backed by its patron, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, to fight the decision.

The International Paralympic Committee announced at the end of last month that sailing was not on the list of sports in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Sir Robin Knox-Johnston has been backing a petition, which had 14,500 signatures in the first few days, to reinstate the sport:

Sir Robin posted the following message on Facebook:

Turkish Visas - press release

Now Turkish visas put cruisers off

Boat owners cruising in Turkish waters are facing more difficulties because a new law regarding Residence Permits is confusing everyone concerned.

Visitors' Visas to Turkey for cumulative visits of up to 90 days in a rolling 180 days are easily obtained on-line – an agreement that matches the Schengen regulations for non-EU citizens.  But many boat owners wish to cruise for longer than the constraints of the visa so then have to apply locally for a Residence Permit before the 90-day limit is reached.
