Hosted by Sailing Rallies, the weekend promises to be informative and fun, covering preparation, planning and what you are likely to experience during an Atlantic crossing. Whether you are planning to sail the Atlantic this year, next year or if you have only just started dreaming about it – the Transatlantic Forum will provide expert advice and plenty of hints and tips to make your trip a success.

On the 6th of March Neil and Pat Lynn were scheduled to give a talk about their trip around the Black Sea. Their talk had to be postponed for family reasons and Chris Smith stepped in with a different talk about Black Sea cruising.

Neil has now offered to give a shortened version of his talk on Wednesday 3rd of April at CA House. Theire will be plenty of time for questions and discussion after the talk. This is an area which currently sees only a few foreign cruisers but which more members are hoping to visit during the next couple of years.

The Blue Planet Odyssey is a round the world sailing event starting in July 2014, aiming to raise awareness of the global effects of climate change, as rising sea levels threaten to extinguish island communities such as Tuvalu and the Maldives by the end of this century.

The Annual General Meeting is usually the Association’s only formal meeting in the year. The CA is a company limited by guarantee and, therefore, the holding of an AGM is a legal requirement. The Agenda includes a review of the previous year’s activities, together with an opportunity to scrutinise the annual Accounts and  deal with issues such as the election of Flag Officers and Council members, all of whom are Directors of the company.
