Calling all Photographers!
The time has come to select your best photos from the 2025 sailing season and enter them into the very popular Suffolk Photo Competition.

Last year's winning picture was "Marooned at Hayling Island” by John Hallaways.

Top Lines:

• Entry Deadline: midnight on Saturday 31st January 2026
• Subject: “boating” in its broadest sense
• The photograph must have been taken in 2025
• File type: best quality jpeg only
• Pictures will be viewed on a wide screen with a landscape ratio of 16x9. Pictures in other ratios (in particular portrait) are perfectly acceptable but will not fill the screen
• Number of photos: up to three
• Name each jpeg file with your name and the picture title
• Include your name, 'phone number, and CA or RHYC membership number in your email

RULES

1. The Competition is free and only open to CA and RHYC Members.
2. There is one class “Boating”.
3. The photograph must have been taken in 2025.
4. Maximum of three entries per person.
5. Entries limited to jpeg digital images.
6. There must be no text added to the photo, i.e. no name or title.
7. The competition organiser will form a panel to select the best six photos from the entries received.
8. The Winter Talk audience will be asked to vote for their favourite photos from the six and the results announced.
9. The identity of the person submitting an entry will not be disclosed to the audience before voting is complete.
10. The photo attracting the most votes will be announced as the winner and the person who submitted it will receive a prize. Second and third places will also be announced.
11. The choices made by the panel and by the voting audience will be final.
12. By entering the competition members agree to their images being used by the Cruising Association and the Royal Harwich Yacht Club free of charge and confirm that they have any necessary permissions regarding use of the image.
