About Us

Founded in 1908, we are a mutually supportive association dedicated to those who cruise in small boats.

We are a unique, volunteer-led association supporting small boat cruisers.

Our members share trusted, accurate, and extensive information. With over 6,000 members and a dedicated team, we provide valuable experiences and knowledge through online resources, rallies, seminars, and social events across the UK and beyond.

Founded in 1908, our association boasts a rich history and includes notable sailors, such as our patron Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.

How we are run

As a primarily volunteer-run organisation, we are managed by our members for our members, with oversight from a volunteer board and our COO.

The various social gatherings in the UK are designed and run by our committed volunteers. The same applies to our rallies and informational groups focused on popular cruising grounds.

And all our members have a voice in the association’s governance through our AGM held in November.

Our history

We have successfully evolved over our long history and we celebrated our centenary in 2008.
