Nigel Cuthbert will give a full briefing on the recent survey of Mediterranean Section members. Launched in early January the survey asked Section members key information about themselves and where they keep their boats. We hope this information will help us plan more effectively.

The Mediterranean Section survey is now closed and we are in the process of analysing the results. The response rate was excellent so a big thank you to Section members who have risen to the occasion, all 378 of them. I hope you will find it 9 minutes well spent!

Initial results are interesting and we are looking forward to reviewing them with you all on the 16 February in an online webinar, details of which will be sent around separately.

Some initial highlights are that the majority of respondents are UK nationals but we do have a wide spread of members from other countries, which is very gratifying. We cruise to see the world and meet other people from other places; membership of the CA can be a vehicle to facilitate this.

Most of our respondents are sailors but 17% are motor boaters and a few do not have a boat. One stark finding is that more than half of the respondents are over the age of 66. We need to do all we can to encourage younger members. There is plenty more to come so join us on the 16 February to hear the full story.
