The CA’s Regulatory & Technical Services (RATS) Group is your go-to resource for navigating the complexities of cruising.
Across four days of the Southampton International Boat Show, our experts will be on Stand H522 (1100-1700 hrs) offering free, one-on-one advice on a wide range of regulatory and technical issues.
In addition to our dedicated focus sessions, RATS will be pleased to answer any other questions you may have – from VAT and visas to radar, HVO and more.

Friday 19 September - RATS on orca
The CA has monitored the phenomenon of orca interactions along the Iberian Peninsula since 2022. We will share insights on the current situation, provide risk-reduction strategies and safety advice for sailing in affected waters. Ask your questions to our experts.
Tuesday 23 September - RATS on Travelling with Pets
If you are cruising into EU waters (or beyond) with your pet, some important planning and preparation steps are required to ensure your pet meets the requirements of entry/exit from the countries you are visiting. Plus, head to The Boating Academy Stage from 1525-1550 hours, where the CA will give a talk about the current regulations, guidance and advice.
Wednesday 24 September - RATS on Cruising in Europe
Visit the CA Stand H522 to find out how to extend your stay. Following the departure of the UK from the European Union in 2021, UK nationals are now subject to the same travel restrictions as nationals from other non-EU countries. From 1525-1550 hrs, the CA will present a talk on The Boating Academy Stage on the requirements and restrictions, as well as opportunities for extended travel in Europe - for both UK and other non-EU nationals alike.
