Three summers in Norway, Mark Sweetnam

Details

Mark and his wife Dawn spent the last three summers cruising the coast of Norway. Having left Kilrush on the south-west coast of Ireland on Don Carlos - their Najad 420 - in May 2024 they worked their way up the Norwegian coast to Tromsø. Going north in May 2025 they rounded Nordkapp - the most northerly point on mainland Europe - before working their way south to the Hardangerfjord near Bergen. This summer they cruised around to the Oslofjord before returning to the Hardangerfjord.

Mark will give a taste of their cruise and many of the magnificent anchorages and harbours they visited. He will also cover practical information that may be of assistance to future visitors. As a cruising area they found Norway to be no more demanding than the west coasts of Ireland or Scotland.
