The CA has launched its campaign to reduce the existential impact of Brexit on British small boat cruisers wanting to voyage extensively in European waters, including inland waterways.

This is a joint Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN) and Royal Thames Yacht Club event which CA members are welcome to join. The speaker, Captain Peter Chapman-Andrews, is a former director of the Royal Institute of Navigation and a Younger Brother of Trinity House. During his Naval career, he served as navigator on HMS Ark Royal and HMY Britannia. The talk is free, but you must register in advance through the RIN website.
It might be said that there is nothing unusual about an Atlantic passage, but the trip does have some interesting features. For example, my wife, Tania, suffers from an inner ear disorder which makes sailing very difficult for her (it causes continuous sea-sickness). Also, for various reasons I had to sail very much to a timetable with flights home and crew changes for each leg of the trip.
