Rachel Fancy, Warden, Wallasea Island & Foulness, RSPB will give a talk on the Wallasea Island wild coast project and its relevance for cruisers.

Dinner  at 7pm. Lecture at 8pm

The outline plan is to meet at Queenborough on the evening of 27 May.

Cruise in Company to Limehouse Basin on 28 May.

Pontoon Party/ BBQ at CA House.

Dinner at CA House on Sunday 29 May.

Leave for your Home port or cruise on Monday 30 May

We have tried to pick pubs alternately in the North or South of Maritime Essex and so this month we have picked the well reviewed Swan at Stratford St Mary, on the river Stour near Dedham Vale in the heart of Constable County. The pub boasts a good well kept cellar and brews some of its own beer.  The reviews of the food are good.

How the Dutch sneaked up the Medway to raid Chatham. How Olaf the Viking made London Bridge fall down... All this and more tales of the Thames in another engaging lecture by Jeremy Batch. All welcome.

Essex Section Festive Celebration 2015

We hope to see old and new friends at our Christmas dinner and social evening. 

£13 per head CA and BSC members, £15 per head for other guests for 2 course dinner, followed by mince pies and tea/coffee.

After dinner get ready for the now famous CA Yankee Grab. A variation on “Secret Santa” everyone please bring a wrapped gift (maybe suitable for a sailor if you like) but don’t spend more than £5.  It’s the thought that counts! All will be revealed on the night.
