The White-Tailed Eagles Reintroduction Project

Details

White-tailed eagles are Britain's largest birds of prey and were once widespread across England, until persecution by humans wiped out the entire population by 1780. These iconic birds, also known as sea eagles, are now being returned through a ground-breaking conservation project. As sailors, we are now fortunate to be able to see them in our local waters, as well as in Scotland and Norway, and further afield.

Imogen Lloyd, from Forestry England, will talk about the fascinating reintroduction project centred on the Isle of Wight. She will cover the ecology of white-tailed eagles, their history in the British Isles and bring us up to speed with the latest updates from the project. A true enthusiast and expert in her field, Imogen will share her passion for these wondrous birds, and having us all looking to the skies.
