What goes wrong, how to prevent it and what to do when laying up
Electricity is vital on board most boats to keep their systems running and to provide the crew with the services they expect. Much of it will be professionally fitted and many yachtsmen will have little knowledge about the finer detail of electric circuits. But, given the importance of electrical power, some understanding of it is likely to be useful.
Oliver Ballam, of Seapower Marine, is a well known to East Coast sailors both as a supplier/installer of cutting-edge technology and 'no job too small' troubleshooter. He is also the co-author of Essential Boat Electrics, for those who prefer a hands-on approach. This talk is dealing with what goes wrong, how to prevent it and what to do when laying up is one you may come to regret not attending when you had the chance!

Time: Doors open at 18:00, dinner at 18:45, talk starts at 20:00. Please note, the chef prepares a 50/50 of dishes, you will be offered a choice on arrival; if a dish is particularly popular, later arrivals may no longer have a choice.

Open to: Members of the CA, CS and RHYC and to non-members.
Guests: Members are encouraged to bring one guest each at the member's rate, just book your guest as an additional member when booking your place.
