Beginning in Biscay – An Introduction to Cruising the Biscay Coast of France (webinar)

The Biscay coast of France is a fantastic cruising ground and this webinar will highlight some of the advantages to cruising this coast, and some of the pitfalls that may catch out the unwary. Its aim is to arm members with the inspiration, information and confidence to spend time enjoying this region.

The webinar will include two presentations by members with extensive experience of the area, with a break between the two.

Session 1: Cruising the Biscay Coast of France, Judith Grimwade

11:00 - 12:00

Judith and Mark Grimwade have cruised this coast for nearly 20 years during which time, they have got to know it well. Judith also edits the chapter on Western France for the Cruising Almanac. She will highlight some of the best locations on this coast, with advice on how to get in and out!

Session 2: Keeping a Boat in France, Roger Bickerstaff

14:00 - 16:00 (approx)

Roger kept his boat in Port La Forêt for several seasons. Some locations make better bases for keeping or leaving a boat for a short while. There are other considerations such as Ports of Entry and the 90 days in 180 restrictions in Schengen.
