The Cruising Association’s Spring Promo Week, 21-27 March 2022, has again proven a great success with the week’s events reaching out to participants from 28 countries around the world.
"We were delighted to host a packed week of opportunity for sail and motor boat enthusiasts," commented Lucy Gray, General Manager. "Our expert webinars, prize draws, zoom one-to-ones and CAptain’s Mate tours have clearly appealed to members and non-members, with a huge level of engagement in Spring Promo Week. Plenty more have also tapped into the extra discounts on offer from our marine partners.
"The CA has reached out to experienced and new cruisers spanning 28 countries, across Africa, North and South America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.
"The backbone of the CA is sharing knowledge and Spring Promo Week has again proven a superb platform to showcase our know-how and give a taste of what CA membership offers, concluded Gray.
Webinars - Sharing the Knowledge
Our four free interactive webinars attracted worldwide registrations, as members and non-members tuned in to our series which showcased the style of expert knowledge and advice shared at CA lectures and events during the year. Participants took part from across the globe, including Antigua, Australia, Colombia, Honduras, Israel, New Zealand, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa and the USA.

Welcome to our new members
A big welcome to our fifty new yacht and motor members, who took the opportunity to join the CA with a 25% discount off full membership and no joining fee. We are delighted to welcome both experienced cruisers and those starting out on their cruising journey.

We also launched the first of our monthly 'Refer a Friend' prize draws with VirCru SmartBoat. Throughout the year, members can refer a friend to join the CA and pass on a 25% membership discount, whilst also earning themselves £20 to spend in the CA Shop. From March to September, members who 'Refer a Friend' receive an extra bonus of automatic entry into our monthly Prize Draw, which until the end of April is for a VirCru SmartBoat sensor system package worth £436.
Prize Draw Winners
Congratulations to Graham Ellison who is the delighted winner of our Winter Big Prize Draw in partnership with Crusader Sails. Picked at random from 444 entries, Graham will soon be picking up a new Super Zero Sail and deck stowage bag for his Super Seal 26 'Tiptoe Too'.
"Thank you so much; your call was a delightful surprise, completely out of the blue," said Ellison after receiving a call from Lucy Gray.
Ellison entered the prize draw at Southampton International Boat Show last year, saying, "It’s always a highlight of the show to visit the CA stand and have a nice chat with the folks there, but even more so last year with the new CAptain’s Mate app on display, which left me goggle-eyed with wonder, by the way."
Our Summer Big Prize Draw is now open giving members the chance to win a £2,000 AquaMarine voucher. The draw closes on 21 September 2022, when the winner will be able to take their pick of AquaMarine equipment, which covers everything from deck hardware to dinghy and outboards, technical apparel to cabin and galley equipment and much more.
The CA Bundle prize draw proved a hit, with 456 entries piling in from members and non-members over the seven days of Spring Promo Week. Juliet Lloyd, who sails from Woolverstone, has won herself a night’s cabin stay for two at CA House, the CA Almanac and other CA boat goodies.
