Aids to navigation

Can you help our fellow RATS with your views on Aids to Navigation?

Through Trinity House, RATS – the CA’s Regulation and Technical Services team, has received a request from the General Lighthouse Authorities which is undertaking a review of Aids to Navigation around the UK coast, The Channel Islands and Ireland. They would like members to comment on the usefulness and usability of existing aids plus any possible provision of new aids to navigation.

The review will be published next year and will form the GLA’s work plan for the following five years.

Aids currently provided include navigation outside harbour authority areas according to the degree of risk and volume of traffic.

The authorities are always pleased to hear from the Cruising Association. Members are asked to send any comments and views they may have on the provision of Aids to Navigation to who will pass the information on.
