The River Deben and the changing Suffolk Coastline by Peter Wain - Sold out

The constant battle between man and nature continues. Our predecessors built dykes and reclaimed land to prevent flooding but winter storms often quickly reshape the coastline.

When we sail along we often wonder how the coast and rivers looked in the past.

Sailors have always sought shelter at times, and Goseford in the Deben was one of many which have disappeared.

Come and hear the story of the lost medieval port on the river Deben, and about the effects of war and climate change.
