Details: The aim of the 1 day RYA/World Sailing Offshore Personal Survival Course is to provide skippers and crews of yachts taking part in offshore races with the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with an emergency. The course will give you a good knowledge of the safety equipment carried on small boats and the seamanship techniques needed to survive at sea in heavy weather.

Details: The Day Skipper shorebased course is for those that have done little or no actual navigation, regardless of whether you have a lot of sailing experience or none.

The course will be run online through Zoom. On your PC/MAC/Mobile you will be able to see the instructor, any slides he might show, there is a whiteboard function and you can ask him any questions. It is just like being in the classroom, but you can 'stay safe' at home!

Details: The course is an advanced course in navigation techniques. The syllabus makes some provision for the revision of subjects covered on the Day Skipper Course but those who have not acquired the knowledge set out in the Day Skipper course are unlikely to be able to assimilate all the subjects covered in this advanced course in the time available.

Details: The Day Skipper theory course is ideal for someone interested in learning how to sail or for someone that knows how to sail already but hasn't really done any navigation. This is a shore based course, so all the lessons will be carried out in CA House. The course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.
