The South West Section is taking to the lifeboats! This will be a visit to RNLI HQ in Poole, which will include a tour of the College and a chance to take the helm of a lifeboat in the simulator.
The RNLI is a world leader in maritime rescue and its headquarters is in Poole. At the RNLI College volunteer crew are trained and new techniques and technologies are put to the test. A vital part of the training includes time in the Lifeboat Simulator, learning to helm in a Force 7 or worse.
The day's tour will be followed by lunch in the impressive RNLI Riggers Restaurant overlooking Poole Harbour. Numbers are limited and we are expecting strong demand for this fascinating and enlightening visit. You are advised to book early. A wait list will be introduced once the tour is full.
