Traditional Boat Building on the Thames

Traditional Boat Building on the Thames, by Colin Henwood

Henwood and Dean Boatbuilders have been established for nearly 30 years and are internationally renowned as specialists in the restoration, rebuilding and maintenance of classic wooden Thames craft. Using traditional and time-honoured methods of craftsmanship, the quality of their work is exceptional. This summer their major 2-year restoration project on the 43ft electric launch Lady Charlotte was finally completed and she left the yard to be launched on the Thames - 100 years almost to the day that she was first put on the water!

Henwood & Dean have won many prestigious awards for their classic wooden boats, and have regularly featured in Thames-based events and on television.
