First Aid at Sea

FIRST AID AT SEA

We hope it doesn't happen but every now and again it does.

Dredge up and refresh, from the depths of your mind all that stuff you learnt at Scouts, Guides or any of the other youth activities.

Come along to this entirely practical based talk given by Jon Boon of CA London who worked for 37 years 132 days in the Ambulance Service, not that he counted.

Audience participation and brave volunteers required!!!

Base line observations, unconscious patient examination and assessment including head injury, immediate actions for bleeding, fractures and burns.  Acute medical emergency such as heart attack, stroke or exacerbation of known chronic conditions such as diabetes are all situations that could present. Come along and get an idea of how to manage the patient through the acute phase.

Skippers briefing, we all know our crews condition, don't we?

Lets not forget that after the patient, the most important person, is the one next too them, who is trying to help!
