To the Caribbean and Back: Atlantic sailing with not much time to spare, Rick Ballard

It might be said that there is nothing unusual about an Atlantic passage, but the trip does have some interesting features. For example, my wife, Tania, suffers from an inner ear disorder which makes sailing very difficult for her (it causes continuous sea-sickness). Also, for various reasons I had to sail very much to a timetable with flights home and crew changes for each leg of the trip. The tale I have to tell will appeal to any cruising sailor who has ambitions to sail the Atlantic but particularly to those whose partners/spouses are not willing or able to join in for the longer passages, for whatever reason, meaning they can never be a live-aboard couple.
