The Cruising Association (CA) has a packed programme of interactive webinars, prizes, discounts and plenty of opportunities to connect during our virtual Spring Promo Week. There is something for everyone, so save the date, be part of it and invite your friends to discover the CA too.

Connect with the CA
Our virtual ‘open house’ invites you to connect with us every day from Monday 21 March to Friday 25 March, when our expert team will be on hand to chat with non-members and members in one-to-one sessions via Zoom and LiveChat. Zoom sessions are bookable in 30 minute time slots and for LiveChat non-members can simply click on the website button.
Explore the wealth of cruising knowledge you can tap into, get the inside track with an online journey through the members’ website or take a tour of CAptain’s Mate app. For those interested in our Crewing Service – the perfect platform for skippers to find crew and vice versa - then book your Zoom slot for the afternoon of Wednesday 23 March when you can talk to our team about the opportunities ahead for the 2022 season.
Join the CA

Tuesday 22 March – 1900-2000 hours
Buying a second-hand boat and what to look for
Dr Jeff Callander will share his expertise, which is equally helpful for someone buying their first cruising boat, trading up to a bigger boat or swapping to a smaller yacht or motor cruiser.
Wednesday 23 March – 1900 hours onwards
Cruising from the USA east coast to the west via the Panama Canal
After crossing the Atlantic in 2010, Michael and Anne Hartshorn enjoyed four years’ cruising the US east coast, Cuba and the Bahamas before continuing their round the world adventure. Via Zoom or in-person at CA House (£4 members/£7 non-members).
Thursday 24 March – 1900-2000 hours
Getting ready to sail from the UK to the Med
Based on his own experience Joel Tatham looks at equipment and technology for a voyage to the Med. Joel will share his thoughts on blue water upgrades, building a RaspberryPi chart plotter, making a vlog and why he thinks using a sextant is critical for ocean sailors.
Saturday 26 March – 1400-1500 hours
Preparation is the Key to Safety
Duncan Wells - author of the ‘Stress Free’ range of sail and motor books and most recently ‘101 Tips for Stress Free Sailing’ - lives and breathes sailing, navigation and instruction. Learn from his expert insights on why thinking ahead is vital to prevent problems.
