A Circumnavigation of Sweden, or to Travemunde with Tess, by Derek and Jean Lumb
Having failed to get to the Baltic Rally in Visby in 2011, Derek and Jean were determined to get to the 2012 Rally in Travemunde. As they sail with their Border Collie, Tess, they would have to travel by car to rejoin their boat, and return to their starting point - and their car - at the end of the summer. In planning their Baltic adventure they had been rather taken with the idea of going through the Gota Canal, so the idea came together of a circumnavigation of Sweden.
This talk follows their cruise in Whispered Secret, their Westerly Typhoon, up the east coast of Denmark from Augustenborg, through the Göta Canal, into Stockholm via Lake Mälaren, to the Archipelago, down to Travemunde and back to Augustenborg via Copenhagen.
