CA Members Paul and Camilla Pearse set off from their home mooring on the Beaulieu River in May, planning to cruise through Holland to the Baltic with their Southerly 110 'Never Can Tell' intending to return in the autumn, but somehow their boat is still there …..!

Last Friday we enjoyed some excellent presentations ranged across the world, with accounts of a transatlantic crossing and a circumnavigation of Tasmania, as well as extensive European cruises. This will be reported on more fully in a future newsletter.

Members’ Summer Cruising

For the first of our winter meetings will be on Friday 15 November at the Royal Southern YC, Hamble, and the evening is titled - 'Members Summer Cruising.' 

We hope you will come and share your experiences or just come to listen to those of other members.

Where did you get to? Do come and tell us with a brief (up to ten minute) presentation.

Our Gosport Meet last weekend  was well-attended although the weather deterred most boats (if not their skippers) from getting to the Friday evening muster - but more of that when we get round to a newsletter.

Our Lymington Rally on 5-6 October, with dinner at the Lymington Town Sailing Club, is fast approaching.

As previously announced our September rally will be at Hornet Services SC in Gosport, but the date has had to be brought forward.

We hope to have a muster on the previous Friday evening, somewhere nearby but this will depend on the weather.

The booking form attached invites expressions of interest as this may well be a last-minute decision.

Once again Rodney and Karen Ireland are hosting our first summer event with a drinks reception at the Classic Boat Museum’s Boat Shed, and dinner at the Duke of York Hotel. Further details are on the booking form attached.

At the Royal Southern Yacht Club, Hamble on Friday 26th April a7 19.00 hrs

A three-course meal with CA President Julian Dussek and his wife Vanessa as our Guests of Honour. Julian will be telling us something of his plans for the CA during his presidency, and this will be followed by a light-hearted quiz with a nautical flavour.

This is primarily a social event to take time off from varnishing and to discover fellow-members plans for the summer.
