Our first meet of the season will again be at Island Harbour but this year will take a different form. It will, as always, be very informal and a chance to meet up with old friends and welcome new ones.

This is the Section’s last Meet of the summer of 2014 and is to be held at Gins Farm on the lovely Beaulieu River at the much appreciated courtesy of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club.

The Beaulieu River is often regarded as the most attractive scene in the Solent.

On the previous day and evening, namely Friday 19^th some boats muster in Newtown Creek. If you plan on coming please let either Alec Macpherson (Gins Farm Meet organiser, or the Section Secretaries Tim and Liz Dodwell know.

This is the notice of our annual Fitting Out Supper that is to be held at the Royal Air Force Yacht Club Hamble on Saturday 26th April 2014.

This is the last event of the winter programme 2013-14 

We will dine to a 3-course supper at the RAFYC, Hamble (Note - not Waters Edge at Mercury where we have held other meetings this winter).

Members' short talks on the cruising experiences last summer

We already have some members who have volunteered to give a short presentation with their cruising photos, but we certainly could do with some more. 

Please let us know if you would be prepared to tell about your cruising, where or what you got up to in 2013.

Alec Macpherson is a longstanding member of the CA and the Solent Section. For more than ten years he has been the chief architect of our annual Gins Farm Meet, and so the Section Secretaries have decided to invite him and Cate to be the Section's Guests of Honour at this year's Pre-Christmas Dinner. 

Alec will also be our after-dinner speaker.  He has had a very wide experience of the sea and cruising, both under sail and under power, and we can confidently expect a fascinating evening, coupled with Alec’s wry Scots humour.
